We want to faciliate the overview of existing shear-wave splitting measurements
and share the results of the analysis and experiments with everybody.
Please feel free to search the database. To add your own measurements you need a password which can be obtained by writing a short email to splitting@gm.univ-montp2.fr. Thank you for your understanding. For entering your data we prepared a browser interface. Please have a look at our Preview We provide two different output formats of the database, text files of splitting parameters and references and the database in GoogleEarth format Please visit the Download page to obtain the complete database Citing the SKS splitting database using its DOI: Barruol, G., Wuestefeld, A., & Bokelmann, G. (2009). SKS-Splitting-database. Université de Montpellier, Laboratoire Géosciences. https://doi.org/10.18715/sks_splitting_database Important notice: The SplittingDataBase is an open-access database. It contains SKS splitting parameters, but also all the corresponding article references. So, do not forget to cite the proper works & references in your publications when using and extracting data from this base. If you use the data or maps
in publications please cite the SplittingDataBase using the following reference: |

We recommend plitLab to perform your splitting processing! |

You might also be interested by a different approach undertaken by Matt Evans and Mike Kendall. Please visit their "Automated Splitting database" To easily plot the SKS splitting results with GMT4, you can use the script draw_splitDB.txt kindly provided by Frederik Tilmann (GFZ Potsdam). We have also prepared a some other useful datasets for (you need GoogleEarth4.0.2080 or later)
